Representatives from the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians presented their plans for a 29-lane gun range last Tuesday, February 24th at the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors open session. Many local residents, the pastor of the local church and parents of children at local elementary schools spoke about their concerns with the project. The session concluded with the board passing a motion directing the Chief Administrative Officer to coordinate the staff review of the project, using the information and project description provided by the Tribe, and return to the Board with a staff report that addresses the comments and concerns submitted by the community on the project’s potential...
